I’ve been rocking myself to sleep
Hear the ticking of the clock behind me
I’ve tried counting sheep
I’m the shepherd waiting for them to find me
Sitting still in the corner of my enclosure
As the children pay their fair
I’ve closed myself off to the open world
There’s a bunny in a chair
(How do you know it’s not a hare?)
It’s so fluffy I want to touch it
(Because there’s no greyhound chasing it)
And stroke its white fur coat
But I’m locked in my asylum
On the titanic of sinking ships
It’s hoping around on grass outside
I close my eyes and try to hide
They have not a care in the world
Breeding innocence into the world

I’ve ripped its little head
And tore out its throat
Eaten it’s leg, I heard it beg
Its skin would look nice on a coat

Its eyes glazed over dead
