Prelude for organ
Some fidgeting on an organ simulator. I adore the sounds this thing produces... No metronome.

Better too short than too long? In all honesty, his was just me noodling and drooling over the different sounds it can produce (did you notice I'm not using a standard tuning?) - far from a fully thought out composition.

No sorry I didn't notice since I haven't got perfect pitch. Just as well since I'm playing instruments in different tunings, which would drive me nuts.

Actually the diapason (base tuning) is at 440Hz, but the distance between the individual notes is a little different than normal, causing some subtle different harmonies. I also don't have perfect pitch (who needs that anyway? :D) I couldn't tell which tuning it is, but I do hear something is slightly different.

Sounds like it's just very well sampled off a real pipe organ. Most pipe organs have anomalies and "iffy" tuning. The chord at 0:44 has the most noticeable problem to my ears. There are different tunings with "Equal Tempered", "Just Tempered" and and Bach's "Well Tempered" being the commonly used tunings. Some work better than others depending on the key and chord structure.

The system does not use samples at all. It's a physical model (and every parameter is tweakable.. pretty impressive stuff).

I'm not 100% certain anymore, but I think I used Rameau's adjusted mean-tone tuning. Indeed the chord at 0:44 sounds pretty colorful compared to a 12EDO tuning (to my ears it's not a "problem" though :D )

I agree...not a problem at all. When/if you listen to a lot of "world music" you hear all sorts of tunings. Each is right unto itself.

You couldn't never pin this down with a metronome shiihs. "fidgeting" :D This may be short but it quickly becomes something powerful and regal, must be fun to do ?

Oh absolutely, I feel like I'm at an organ in a cathedral, blasting the audience off their seats haha.

Well... on a real organ one has to switch between (up to) four manuals and at the same time play the foot pedals (and then you also have goodies like things like couplers, tremulants, swell pedals, etc). It's medieval top technology - in fact, I find it quite incredible this can still be used today. And to feel the walls tremble when the lowest pipes blast their sound... it's something else entirely :D

Hmm I have to correct that a bit: the first organs have been invented around 220 before Christ (water organs apparently).
