Harlem Gypsies
Continuing to have a right laugh with the various loops and kits in S1. This time focusing on another favourite, but rather specific, sub-genre that I love: orchestral funk and disco.
This track is very much inspired by a fantastic but fairly obscure US band from the '70s called American Gypsy. They could be so funky but would wander into these orchestral breakdowns. A brilliant band and well worth checking out.
Anyway, this is more an arrangement than a composition. It's all ...

This is great retro fun and certainly deserves some attention. Hopefully you're adding a drum track?

I shall get around to one as soon as possible. I'm working on ideas for it but trying to stay away from the classic 'disco' approach. May end up being disco anyway!

I can only guess how much effort you put into putting this together. I recognize some of the loops in S1 but until now I have never used them except for creating tracks to practice to.

Glad you spotted them - I guess you spotted part of the piece's title being from S1's 'Harlem Nights' construction kit?

Thanks for the referral. This may now be my favorite disco band ever. Their bass player is epic.

Thank you. That's a great track for sure. The inspiration for my track actually came from AG's Inside Out. Another gem from them:
