This year is over


The year is over, a terrible year.
War and murder and manslaughter.
Destruction without end.

We have lost so much, and people are still fighting,

Cycle of violence and pain.

But in the midst of this chaos, we have also seen
glimmers of hope. Our world
has come together to stand against
Hate and injustice.

We have seen people come together
come together to help those in need,
and put aside their differences to work together
for a better future.

We have seen communities
come together to help their neighbors, against all odds.
We have seen how humanity rise from the ashes
and find strength in unity
through compassion and kindness.

We can be proud of the fact
that we did not let the darkness intimidate us
by the darkness, but instead turned to the light
to the light and love.
This is something that no enemy can take away from us.
We must continue to march forward, determined,
to make our world safe for the generations to come.
We must not forget how far we have come,
how our hearts have grown and our minds
minds have opened. Our courage has been tested,
our struggles have been great, but we should meet them
with determination and a spirit of hope for a better
hope for a better tomorrow.
We hope it is enough, we hope it is enough.
