Imitation of a sax style or phrasing isn't at all necessary, and (IMHO) shows little/no imagination. What you play is very good. Good lines work on any instrument as it's your musical mind that communicates. Just a shame that the sax sample is such poor quality. The attack, sustain and tail off notes on a sax are individual. When digitized into a keyboard it totally looses it's distinctive character. Other instruments, especially synth or keyed, don't have those issues so can always sound "right". The guy in the video us using an overabundance of breath control/variation to overcome the overly consistent tone. Clever stuff, but still totally recognizable as synthetic.
