Synth Rhodeo
Another top track from Marc with pace yet a soft and smooth subtlety. I set out to avoid lots of ghost notes, etc., because it's what I always blimming play!
I tried quite a few rhythms out but actually it needed that busy, rumbling drive for me. But instead of going ghost note crazy throughout, I decided to use the hi-hat and ride to provide that motion through the 1-&e2-&e3-&e4-&e pattern played throughout. The kick largely phrases with the main rhythm ...

So slick and shiny that I've slipped over! As you say, good sense of motion. Perfectly playing.

Martin! Your drive is so tight and gives a lot of groove, hearing the bassplayer allready on your kickdrum! Sorry bout my last bar on the lightblue part, was a bit doubtful in my playing there!

Great explanation for such a finely played drum track. Good choices and yes giving this drive certainly makes sense. Perfect break in red section.

Thank you, Wade. The red section plays into my fears! Marc likes to switch to swing time and it's damn hard to be original when he does because the pattern I use I've used so many time before!
It's the drummer's curse! Because it's hard to work between 'being original' and 'what works' in that case. And I have to go with what's - to me - right!
Drummers. Damn them! :) +1

Way too self critical. Whatever works is fair. So you think we remember the drumming style form one track to the next? We'd only notice if the track wasn't good...you're incapable of that...or at least wouldn't post it would you?
