You figured out what "works" and did it. It works, you had fun....its as easy as that!
The key Nils enetered may be an error. Doesnt matter . You figured it out and added a professional sounding part thats interesting, fun and makes the song better. To be honest I never look at the key. After awhile , it all becomes so natural, you just pick up the instrument and just know what key naturally. +2

Its F. You can always play root notes to find the key. the one that sounds most natural is the key.
