Thanks a lot, the complex thingie isn't that high.... the 13 chord is a cool flavour and can be used real easy... :Y:Y:Y

Yeah it's true, but whenever I'm playing a 13 chord it's an extension of the V in a II-V sequence. You make much more use of it in your playing than just that. :)

I just play a M7 in the upperhand and my basstone is one higher.....voila....there's the 13 chord!

Interesting. My usual voicing for that would be to flatten the 11 so it becomes a 3. (C13 would be Bb-D-E-A, whereas you are using Bb-D-F-A). It's subtly different. I'm going to try using it. :)

I think that a C13 is Bb - D - F - A and with a C in the bass.....
Lowering the F to the E than you play a 13 without the 11....... but that sounds real cool too! :) :) :) +1

Yes you're right - a 13 includes an 11, a 9 and a 7. It's a choice of chord shape then because it is unlikely you can easily play all those along with a third and a root. I'd write any chord that has both a sixth and a seventh as a 13th. Good voicing splits those up, then it's up to you what to squash in between them. I like the #11 in there sometimes as well for a change.

Miss this style of yours Marc! Those jazzy soft chords filling in the landscape with some phaser sound!
