Biography

I began playing the guitar in 1968 after hearing the album Axis Bold as Love by Jimi Hendrix,my young pubesant mind was well and truly blown.
I turned professional at 16 playing in what was known as a club band playing the miners welfares and working mens clubs in the north of England often 7 nights a week.Bands of this persuasion played everything from Frank Sinatra to Black Sabbath.
I formed my first rock band after leaving the club scene and started playing music by the likes of Jimi hendrix,Rory Gallagher etc plus writing original material.
I have never stopped playing and was professional for most of the late 80's thru to the late nineties fronting my own 3 piece blues rock,funk outfit.Playing venues in the UK,Europe and Canada.
My influences are incredibly broad as they should be after more than 50years of playing but here are some of my milestones.
Jimi Hendrix , Mahavishnu Orchestra(John Mclaughlin) ' Miles Davis , John Coltrane , Prince , Captain Beefheart , Howlin Wolf , Frank Zappa , John Martyn ,etc etc and on and on.

Instruments

I play guitar and also bass,basicaly I'll have a go at anything with strings on.
I own too many guitars,6/12/8s & 4s.I make some of the guitars myself cobbling different components together. I am rapidly running out of wall space,but Although many of them are just cheapies I love them all dearly.

recording devices

Recording set up is pretty steam powered by todays standards but it has served me well over the years,I've had no complaints yrt.
